Know what our Program isn't
Not adult mindfulness
Our course time is much shorter (60-90 minutes per lesson), and each practice much briefer. This is intentionally designed to be age-appropriate and relevant for children.
Not therapy
Our program is meant to be education rather than therapy. It is not meant to address serious mental health or behavioural problems, though it can often help with difficult emotional states.
Not religious
We are completely and unreservedly secular, without being tied to any religion.
We might explore mindful movement to meet a specific objective, such as doing a mindful stretch to get children out of their seats and sensing their bodies more deeply.
Not visualisation
We do not use any visualisation techniques to take the mind to another place. Instead, it is about helping children to experience and be with whatever is happening to them in any moment, even if that is anger, sadness, or fear.
