Our Signature Program

for children and youths

In an increasingly busy curriculum, our program is not another thing to fit into an already full day - it offers opportunities to pause, connect, explore and simply be. Each lesson is expertly curated to teach a distinct Social & Emotional Learning skill. We employ a three-tiered methodology, where we facilitate learning and internalisation through action and reflection. In doing so, we endeavour to deliver these skills and lessons to children and youths in a relatable, age-appropriate, fun and engaging way. Some of the teaching approaches that we utilise include storytelling, experiential learning, journaling and reflection, and the consideration approach (i.e. adopting the perspective of another person).

Our three-tiered methodology includes:

  • Learn: Our program is heavily backed by neuroscience research, where concepts and theories will be introduced via models and frameworks. Short videos and real-life examples will be used for discussion to deepen understanding.

  • Activity: We believe in experiential learning to aid with knowledge internalisation. There will be hands-on activities such as arts and craft (e.g. breathing wand, glitter bottle, gratitude jar), and individual worksheets (for journaling and reflection).

  • Try it Yourself: Each lesson includes Home Practices for children to explore, and help support them in making connections between what they learn in class and application to their daily lives. These may be done on their own or with a trusted person. Parents, siblings or caregivers may enjoy these practices too.

These will be tailored accordingly depending on the age group. We cater separate sessions for preschoolers (4-6yo), primary schools (7-12), and youths (13-19).

Know what our Program isn't

Not adult mindfulness

Our course time is much shorter (60-90 minutes per lesson), and each practice much briefer. This is intentionally designed to be age-appropriate and relevant for children and youths.

Not therapy

Our program is meant to be education rather than therapy. It is not meant to address serious mental health or behavioural problems, though it can often help with difficult emotional states.

Not religious

We are completely and unreservedly secular, without being tied to any religion.

We might explore mindful movement to meet a specific objective, such as doing a mindful stretch to get children out of their seats and sensing their bodies more deeply.

Not visualisation

We do not use any visualisation techniques to take the mind to another place. Instead, it is about helping children to experience and be with whatever is happening to them in any moment, even if that is anger, sadness, or fear.
